Ahh, that makes sense.  My Dad lives near the Golf Course and it is absolutely impossible to get any reception there.  It was bad enough with analog TV but the switch to digital killed it.

Comr4, are you referring to DirecTV?  I have near zero problems with it at home or at the cottage.

If you are a satellite TV subscriber at home there are ways to do it cheaply at the cottage but I am not going to post it publicly.  PM me if you want to know more.

Does any one have any suggestions to get better television reception with an antenna?  The reception in the winter is great, but the summer, not so good. We did purchase a booster and that helps.  We are looking at new antennas(ours is the regular one from 20 years ago)  there are so many choices with the new digital antennas.  I do not want to purchase satellite, I know that would be better, I just want antenna television.

Broadcast Television is a big problem in the northwoods since the switch to digital. If you get better reception in the winter my guess is foliage may be the issue.  Buy the best antenna you can and put it as high off the ground as possible.

The other possibility is watching TV show online as many of them are now available over the web.  If you are looking for the evening news then over the air broadcast is the only option as far as I know.
