A few people have sent in their guesses on when the ice will go out on Wheeler Lake. Bob A. says April 22nd, Jerry D. is at April 10th, Patty R. guarantees April 19th, Patrick C. says April 17th, Dave S. has it pinned to April 12th at approx 3:00pm, Larry H. has April 8th, Wheeler L., says April 15th, Carrie S-M from CA guesses April 24th, Raoul S. has April 28th at 3:30pm, Cheryl D. picks April 9th, my wife sent me an email to pick April 30th at 2:51pm (you could have just walked into the living room!), Steve F. picks April 24th. Send me your best guess and win, win, win!

I was at the lake on the 27th and there was still ice in the south bay but I don't see any this morning on the 28th. I declare Raoul the winner!
It appears the lake is up about 6 inches over last fall which I was very glad to see. Let's hope we have adequate rainfall this spring and summer to bring it up some more.

Thinking tomorrow, the 27th, will be the day. I have to travel north tomorrow to take care of a few things so I will make my determination then. Looks like Raoul is going to be the closest. We are about 25 days later than last year!

Almost!! Dreary, rainy day today on Wheeler Lake after 2 days of sunshine and 60's. Looks like ice in the boat landing bay, can't tell beyond the islands.

Ice is out on our end of the lake:) (northeast end almost south to the big island) Already had a muskrat swimming around the dock.

Enough with the snow already! Now there is talk of 4-7" on Wednesday. At this rate the ice won't go out until after May 1st.

Snow on the video today-bRRRRRRR!! We're in sunny southern CA:) I AM pushing my ice-out date to July 4th. This is crazy, winter won't let go.

Summer has to arrive this week if the ice will go out in April. With the 12++ inches we got last week there's a lot to melt! Hopefully this wetter snow will help fill up the lake:) Those rocks are coming closer to the surface every year...THINK SUMMER

Well I will put you down for April 15th. That may be a pretty good guess. I think it is going to be later than last year unless it warms up pretty soon.

I was going to guess ice out approximately April 15th but now I'm pushing that back to the 4th of July! Where's that groundhog with the early spring prediction? I'm going to stuff him down some ice fisherman's hole in the ice!!
